Jim Morris (Dennis Quaid), was a high-school teacher and baseball coach who, at 35 yrs old, made it to the major leagues and played for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 1999 and 2000.

6. Without Limits (1998)
Based on the life of Steve Prefontaine (Billy Crudup), a long-distance runner at the University of Oregon, who gained legendary status in the running world and held the U.S. record for every long-distance event from 2,000 to 10,000 meters.
After a disappointing run at the Munich Olympics in 1972, he returned to Oregon and finished his college years undefeated. He continued to run with hopes set on the 1976 Olympics, but was tragically killed in a car accident in 1974 at the age of 24.

The true story of Vince Papale (Mark Wahlberg) who became the oldest rookie in NFL history at age 30. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles for three seasons (1976-78) playing for Special Teams as well as Wide Receiver.

The story of the Herb Brooks (Kurt Russell) and the U.S. Men’s ice-hockey team who, in the 1980 Olympic games, overcame what everyone believed was an impossible feat by defeating the seemingly unbeatable Soviet team. They went on to beat Finland in the final game, winning the gold medal for the U.S.
Their victory over the Soviet team is considered by some to be the greatest upset in sports history.
